Jerry milton

There are many facets of Jerry Milton we could surely list but two will always remain true - he was our father and he was a Punk. He dedicated his life to being both. His documentation of the Texas music scene over his lifetime was breathtaking, around 1000 bands photographed since 1983. His catalogue is a result of almost obsessive attendance of live shows and the true punk drive to put his love of art and creation above tradition. His photography captures the provocative and raw, almost schizo, nature of the avant-garde punk scene that he helped to create. 


To know Jerry was to be photographed by him. His art was his view, his experience, his life. A truly one of a kind person, it stands to reason his photos would be one of a kind as well. He will be missed for eternity, but it has been a true pleasure for his children to connect with him even in death through this process of archiving his work and talking with people in the community that knew him.
